Medical Director (NHTest)
Summary:
- Participate in the development and presentation of timely, accurate, actionable data and analysis supporting departmental and corporate key initiatives.
- Provide analytics for strategic and operating decisions to senior management.
- Provide proactive analysis and recommendations to senior management of both a tactical and a strategic nature on how to increase efficiencies, reduce unnecessary costs, etc.
- May serve as mentor and/or resource to less experienced analyst(s).
Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of complex and varied healthcare data including financial modeling & risk forecasting.
- Develop, implement, update, enhance and maintain dashboards of key performance metrics for internal and external customers.
- Work to identify/implement improvements in quality control/timeliness of reporting.
- Extract, collect, analyze and interpret health utilization & financial data of various types from many sources.
- Perform data mining and analytic functions of complex/varied healthcare data to identify cost savings opportunities.
- Make assessments & monitor key performance indicators of health care costs and trends, quality and outcomes.
- May guide and work with less experienced team members to ensure completion of projects.
- Participate in special projects; perform other duties as directed or required.
Requirements:
- BA/BS Required in Mathematics, Economics, Healthcare or other quantitative discipline required
- 4 – 6+ years’ business experience, preferably in the healthcare industry and/or a technical role required
- Strong skills in analytical/problem solving, and in developing and delivering presentations required
- Experience working with healthcare data including but not limited to claims, testing results and pharmacy data required
- Effective presentation of reporting and analytic results required
- Knowledge of standard health care metrics for payer and provider reporting required
- SAS or SQL proficiency, with strong data querying skills using tools such as SQL or SAS Enterprise Guide required
- High level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.), with an emphasis on Excel required
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all levels/types of audiences required
- Experience preparing/presenting dashboards and data using a data visualization tool such as Tableau preferred
