Provide oversight within the Enterprise Data Warehouse Environment: oversee all inbound and outbound data extracts and the technical data quality scripts embedded in the DWH environment.  Help engage the business areas to carry out data governance tasks from a technical perspective.  Oversee our CTS partners in the care and feeding of data; train and mentor staff on Data Warehouse operations where needed; support any and all data-centric audits.  Conduct basic audit, balance, and control checks and validations to ensure a good data starting point for the rest of the data governance pipeline.  Liaise with key business areas to facilitate the development of the TranZform DWH.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the ETL design practices of our CTS partners, instill a best-practice framework on building and deploying jobs, design job testing procedures and validation standards, and facilitate communication with data governance business partners.
  • Maintain the primary listing of inbound/outbound data assets; and monitor each job against agreed-upon SLA’s set with our CTS partners.
  • Build out a robust Audit, Balance, and Control plan to monitor the performance of all DWH jobs.  
  • Closely monitor the entire TranZform ETL environment, track performance, diagnose bottlenecks, trouble shoot errors, and respond to emergency data requests.
  • Become familiar with starting data sources and the data governance processes established by Emblem; establish necessary relationships with data source providers/teams/external vendors to facilitate smoother data delivery to and from Emblem.
  • Respond to and address approved business requests and asks pertaining to DWH job performance.
Qualifications:
  • BS in Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent/relevant field. 
  • Professional certifications related to data warehousing techniques, project management, and emerging Big Data technologies preferred
  • 10 – 12 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a healthcare environment required
  • 6+ years working in an Enterprise DWH/BI and or data-centric environment with a focus on ETL job execution required
  • Experience and knowledge of traditional RDBMS systems, ETL tools (DataStage, Informatica), job scheduling tools, Master Data management tools, Data Quality tools, and data governance platforms required
  • Extensive and direct experience in using and managing data of a healthcare payer required
  • Experience in ETL job design, job optimization, and deployment required
  • Staff development and management experience within a data warehousing environment required
  • Experience with/on Big Data platforms and Big Data ingestion/extraction tools, preferred
  • Experience in setting up an ETL development environment for a team of distributed ETL developers preferred
  • Extensive experience with large DWH projects in a health payer setting preferred
  • Clear communication style, a desire to help, and focus required
